Customer of the Nationwide competition for the development of the architectural concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky—Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “Competence Center for the Development of the Urban Area of the Kamchatka Territory” supported by DOM.RF foundation, the Government of the Kamchatka Territory, the Administration of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City District and Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies.

Purpose of the competition

Creation of the concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky seeking for the best architectural solutions (exterior, interior and public improvements).

Competition objectives

• Development of an architectural concept (schematic design) of the social and cultural center;
• Development of the functioning strategy for the “art-deco area”;
• A high-level cost estimate with the rationale of the project implementation cost.

The participants

Professional organizations in the field of architecture, design, content and functional programming of the development of public spaces, capable of attracting specialists in the field of economics to the team.

The jury

Representatives of the Customer, government authorities of the Kamchatka Territory, the Administration of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City District, development institutes, as well as experts in the field of urban planning and architecture.

Prize Fund

The author of the best Competition Proposal will have a priority right to sign a “P” Stage Works Contract.

• The winner’s reward is 4,000,000 rubles;
• The reward for 2nd place is 3,000,000 rubles;
• The reward for 3rd place is 2,000,000 rubles.

The total prize pool is 9 000 000 million rubles.

On February 14, a Strategic Session was held encompassing the Nationwide competition participants.

The Expert group considered the applications from 6 consortia and 12 individual contestants.

The expert evaluation was based on the following criteria: relevance and implementation status of the projects in the portfolio, company scale and pool of partners, conceptual representation of the concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Based on the results of the Strategic Session, a list of winners of the expert selection was defined:

• ATRIUM Architectural Bureau.

The finalists of the Nationwide competition for the development of the architectural concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has been determined on March 14.

3 finalists are:

• Consortium led by WOWHAUS Architectural Bureau (Moscow, Russia). Consortium members: horovod. space (Moscow, Russia), Sheredega Consulting (Moscow, Russia).
• Consortium led by GORA Architectural Bureau (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia). Consortium member:  Architectural Bureau M4 (Moscow, Russia).
• ASADOV Architectural Bureau (Moscow, Russia).
