The first quarter of the 21st century is already drawing to a close, which means it is time to take stock and share our plans for the year ahead.
In 2025, the International Urban Laboratory CENTER Lab completed a truly unique project on a national scale—the first sectoral master plan in Russia developed for an entire federal subject, the Republic of Khakassia. The project has now entered an active phase: systematic work is underway to transform the republic from a summer getaway for Siberians into a year-round tourist destination for residents across the country and international visitors alike.
Another landmark project of ours—the competition that gave the symbol of Udmurtia, the main building of the Izhevsk Arms Plant, a redevelopment concept for contemporary use—is also bearing fruit. The complex of historic buildings has been transferred to the management of the state development institution DOM.RF for subsequent transfer to investors and restoration.
In the capital, our work may help rediscover urban nature. The sociocultural study of the city’s specially protected green areas, which we completed just before the New Year, will be a welcome gift for Muscovites. One of its key objectives is to identify people’s needs and expectations regarding the city’s green framework.
May the new year bring you the inspired beauty of Khakassia’s vast landscapes, the resilience and courage of Izhevsk’s arms makers, and the balance that even a megacity can offer through a patch of green space.
As for us, we will continue working for the benefit of cities and their residents. Ahead lie a study of the tourism potential of Oryol Polesie National Park and a competition for the best architectural concept of the new main building of the Federal Center for Original and Advanced Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Technologies.
We are grateful to everyone who shared our successes and helped us overcome challenges.
Happy New Year!
