The Nationwide competition for the development of the architectural concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky started

On February 14, a Strategic Session was held encompassing the Nationwide competition for the development of the architectural concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Customer of the Nationwide competition – Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “Competence Center for the Development of the Urban Area of the Kamchatka Territory” supported by DOM.RF foundation, the Government of the Kamchatka Territory, the Administration of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City District and Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies.

Operator – the CENTER Lab International Urban Laboratory.

The representatives of the government authorities of the Kamchatka Territory, the Administration of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City District, development institutes, as well as experts in the field of urban planning and architecture participated in the Session, including:

• Vladimir Solodov, the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory;
• Tatyana Zhuravleva, Advisor to the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory;
• Mikhail Kudryashov, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing Policy, Chief Architect of the Kamchatka Territory;
• Maria Sinichich, Director of the Department for the Integrated Development of Territories of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation;
• Anton Finogenov, Director for Urban Environment Development at DOM.RF JSC;
• Ksenia Golubeva, Head of the Project Department of DOM.RF foundation;
• Ilya Churkin, Lead Architect of DOM.RF foundation.

Vladimir Solodov, the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, held a Q&A session for potential participants.

The Expert group considered the applications from 6 consortia and 12 individual contestants.

The expert evaluation was based on the following criteria: relevance and implementation status of the projects in the portfolio, company scale and pool of partners, conceptual representation of the concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Based on the results of the Strategic Session, a list of winners of the expert selection was defined:

• Consortium led by GORA Architectural Bureau;
• ASADOV Architectural Bureau;

• Mirproekt, town planning institute of spatial modeling and development;
• MASTER’S PLAN;
• ATRIUM Architectural Bureau.

On March 14, the Jury will select three finalists.
