The Nationwide competition for the development of the architectural concept of the social and cultural center in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky concludes. Today it is in the spotlight and discussed on the largest media platforms.

The development of the Far East became one of the key topics at the Creative Week in Vladivostok and the ARCH MOSCOW International Exhibition.

During the Forum, the Governor of Kamchatka region Vladimir Solodov and the Governor’s advisor Tatyana Zhuravleva spoke about the development of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka, its creative clusters and the future of the social and cultural center.

Director for Urban Environmental Development of the Department of Municipal Affairs of the Russian Federation Anton Finogenov noted the importance of complex transformation of territories, the need to create multifunctional public centers.

The chief architect of the Kamchatka region, Mikhail Kudryachov, at the exhibition ARCH MOSCOW, shared that the new art-eco space at the foot of the Nikola hill will attract creative potential and create a holistic image of the central part of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka.

On May 30, the winner of the All-Russian Competition for the development of the architectural concept of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky public-cultural center will be announced.

Finalist of the competition Consortium led by GORA Architectural Bureau (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) In his project for the future recreation center emphasizes immersion in the world and nature of Kamchatka, its visual and sensory perception.

According to the architects, it will be not only an information center for tourists in the historic part of the city, but also a large public center with a lecture hall, creative workshops, a restaurant and viewing halls for interesting and informative leisure of the citizens.

At the same time, the architects emphasize that the design and subsequent construction of the leisure center will not affect the Nikola summit.

This facility will be a base for the formation of a unified image of the urban environment, a reference point for tourist routes and a new attraction.

Consortium led by WOWHAUS Architectural Bureau (Moscow, Russia) offers a community center for every day and for everyone.

The new venue will combine an event space for local residents, an exhibition attraction about Kamchatka for tourists, and a city living room with a platform for different groups of visitors.

The unique image of the building was invented especially for Kamchatka, it is organically inscribed in the Kamchatka landscape, adapted to the climatic features of the region. The interior and exterior are decorated with local natural materials.

Its appearance is defined by an internal structure designed to solve the main task of launching the heart of the city. The main social place will unite the citizens and will be an important step in transforming Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky into a modern and comfortable city.

Alexander Asadov, the founder of the architectural bureau ASADOV, shared his vision of the future community center. According to him, the construction will take into account the wishes of the city residents and create a museum, exhibition and trade galleries.

The future museum exposition will be a starting point for travelers, acquaint with the region and give necessary introductory information not only about Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, but also about the whole Kamchatka region.

Alexander Asadov points out that participation in the Competition is a new challenge that requires an individual approach, taking into account the climatic and cultural characteristics of the region, as well as the local specifics of the design.
