The development of the Far East is one of the priorities of Russia’s state policy. The region is strategically important as it is a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region.

Experts paid special attention to such cities in the Far East as Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Tynda and Yakutsk.

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is a modern city with a unique natural potential, a strategically important transportation hub, and an industrial, cultural and scientific center of Kamchatka Territory. On May 30, the nationwide competition to develop the architectural concept of the social and cultural center and a new brand for Kamchatka Territory will end in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Tynda is a small town with a metropolitan service level, a key station on the Baikal-Amur Mainline. The Strategic Master Plan includes measures to implement a model of integrative economy with diversification of business activities.

Yakutsk is the cryo-culture capital of Russia. The developed master plan is designed to make Yakutsk the most comfortable city in the permafrost to live in, as well as to develop high-tech and creative industries.

Master plans for cities in the Far East are being developed to improve living conditions, develop promising sectors of the economy, and create new jobs and additional opportunities aimed at strengthening the economic and political stability of the Far Eastern regions.
