Excursion What is the beauty of Krasnaya Presnya?

We continue our description of the tours of the Moscow Industrial project, which are held as part of the International Urban Forum.

The beauty of Krasnaya Presnya is an interesting, unique itinerary from Inna Krylova dedicated to the industrial monuments of Verkhnyaya Presnya.

The tour is dedicated to the Mur & Merilize Partnership, now the Rassvet business district, and the former Trekhgornaya manufactory.

The first buildings of the furniture and carpentry factory Mur & Merilize Partnership, were built at the beginning of the last century. She gave the name to the current Stolyarny Lane. At different times, the factory housed an aircraft plant, defense plant No. 28, Paul Richard’s design bureau, where the future Chief Designer Sergei Korolev worked.

Now the factory has become the Rassvet business district, which includes the new gastronomic space “Food Street. Rassvet” with more than 15 restaurants and cafes.

The second object of the excursion – Trekhgornaya manufactory was founded in 1799 by the merchant Prokhorov and craftsman Rezanov. Trekhgornaya manufactory as a powerful enterprise successfully worked until the 2000s.

Over the long period of its existence, the manufactory suffered many unpleasant events in order to become a historical quarter between Moscow City and the White House. Today it is a cozy environment and meeting place with a unique combination of architecture, gastronomy, fashion and nightlife.

The Moscow Industrial project has been prepared by the Government of Moscow’s Complex for Economic Policy and Moscow Industrial Relations as part of the Moscow Industrial Quarters program for the comprehensive development of former industrial zones, in partnership with the CENTER Lab International Urban Laboratory.
