The house hosted a public talk on the topic "Art in an urban environment"

An expert discussion on the topic “Art in an urban environment” took place in the art space of Digital Art VS Gallery.

Urbanists, representatives of youth policy, culture and art took part in the discussion. They touched upon the issues of interaction between the art world and urban space, the influence of art on the architectural appearance and scenarios of the life of citizens.

Experts noted that the integration of art objects into public spaces allows not only to transform the city, but also to create new points of attraction that stimulate people to communicate and develop. At the same time, the symbiosis of urban spaces with modern art has an impact on the cultural consciousness of society, awakens interest in art.

One of the speakers was Maria Sedletskaya, Head of the analytical department of the International Urban Laboratory “CENTER Lab”.

Today, there are noticeable trends towards the individualization of the approach in development, the formation of a new type of public spaces, the clustering of infrastructure development with the organization of various forms of socio-cultural activity, including festivals in the field of art. Unique art integrations make it possible to distribute the visual load in the city – to use the facade surfaces of objects under construction to demonstrate media art, interpret identity through architectural installations, and increase tourist attractiveness through the immersive presentation of information about places and attractions.

The event was the beginning of a large special project of the MSK1 urban portal: “Art in an urban environment”, which will highlight projects and participants supporting initiatives for the development and creation of a new socio-cultural cluster.
