A comprehensive research for the integration of the "Luzhniki Collection" project into the overall strategy of the "Luzhniki" sports cluster

The purpose of the research is to identify the potential of a new cultural and sports cluster that will unite the Luzhniki Olympic Complex and the Luzhniki Collection Project in Moscow.

Task: to develop recommendations for the creation of a single cultural and sports cluster.

Object: the complex “Luzhniki Collection” with a total area of more than 300 thousand m2, located in the established historical environment surrounded by iconic objects.

Subject: integration of the Luzhniki Collection project into the overall development strategy of the Luzhniki sports cluster.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL COMPLEX “LUZHNIKI COLLECTION”: A NEW LOOK AT THE DEVELOPMENT OF TERRITORIES

“Luzhniki Collection” is a premium residential quarter with a complex of public spaces: a shopping gallery, family cafes, shops focused on a healthy lifestyle, a city square with an art object and creative areas.

There will be 12 club residential buildings with heights from 4 to 18 floors, surrounded by a private park, with a two-level underground parking for 1,932 cars. The project also provides for the construction of two office buildings with a total area of more than 35,000 m2 and a complex of public spaces. The implementation period of the first stage is 2022-2026.

The new cultural and sports cluster, which will combine the Luzhniki Olympic Complex and the Luzhniki Collection Project, has a high development potential.

Cluster development will expand the functionality of both territories, where the dominant sports function is complemented by cultural and recreational functions of the IFC “Luzhniki Collection”.

TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPORTS AND CULTURAL AND LEISURE COMPLEXES HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED: RUSSIAN AND FOREIGN EXPERIENCE

“Luzhniki Collection” corresponds to the global trends in the development of sports and cultural and leisure complexes, contributes to the formation of a new identity and the creation of a point of attraction on the scale of the district and the city.

The IFC project “Luzhniki Collection” plans to create a cultural and leisure program. This will help expand the possibilities of the Luzhniki sports cluster and make up for the lack of spaces in the area that combine sports and recreation and cultural functions. Thanks to the developed target and flanker scenarios, the total traffic capacity of the emerging Luzhnetsky cultural and sports cluster will amount to about 12.5 thousand people per day by 2026.
