Public Talk on “Art in Urban Environment” Held in VS Gallery

A panel discussion “Art in urban environment” was held in VS Gallery phygital art space.

Urbanists, youth policy-makers, representatives of culture and art sphere participated in the panel. They concerned the issue of interaction of the world of art and the urban space, the impact of the art on the architectural look and life scenarios of urban residents.

The experts noted that art objects integrated in public spaces not only transform cities but also create new points of attraction stimulating people to communicate and develop. At the same time, the symbiosis of urban spaces with contemporary art influences the cultural consciousness of the society awaking interest in art.

 Maria Sedletskaya, head of the analytical department of the CENTER Lab International Urban Laboratory, was among the speakers.

Current trends include a personalized approach to development, creation of a new type of public spaces, a cluster-based approach to infrastructure development encompassing various forms of social and cultural activities, including art festivals. Unique arts integrations distribute visual load across the city: facades of objects under construction used to display media art, identity interpretation with the help of architectural installations, enhanced tourist attractiveness via immersive communication about places of interest and sightseeings.

The event initiated a large special project of MSK1 city portal, “The Art in Urban Environment”, highlighting the projects and the participants supporting development initiatives and creation of a new social and cultural cluster.
