Presentation at the EEF-2022 of master plans for the cities of Blagoveshchensk, Svobodny and Tynda in the Amur Region

September 5-8, 2022, The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) was held in Vladivostok, within the framework of which master plans for the cities of Blagoveshchensk, Svobodny and Tynda of the Amur Region were presented. Interactive stands with advanced features allowed visitors to get acquainted with new industrial facilities, infrastructure, tourist routes, the quality of the urban environment and the life of the citizens.

The mission of developing a “small city with a metropolitan level of service, accessibility of services and the quality of the urban environment”  is associated with the development of an integration economy and events for the anniversary of BAM in 2024.

Tynda is a single-industry oriented town, a key station of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) in the global development zone of the Asia-Pacific region, the youngest and the northernmost town of Amur Region.

Svobodny is a small town in the Amur Oblast with promising development potential. It is located at the intersection of several highways, the Trans-Baikal Railway and the Zeya River, the largest waterway in the Amur basin.

Recall that the International Urban Laboratory CENTER Lab has developed Comprehensive analysis and development of the vision of long-term development of Tynda until 2030, and also performed a cluster analysis and selection of key projects-drivers of the economy as part of the Conceptual Master Plan for the town of Svobodny, Amur Region.

The projects resulted in the Conceptual Master Plans, comprehensive planning documents that set out the principles, priorities, goals and expected outcomes for managing the socio-economic and spatial development of the city. They also identified the necessary projects, activities and mechanisms to achieve the goals.

The projects were ordered by the Center for the Development of Territories of the Amur Region.
